Our integration team can take the design and turn it into reality; supplying, installing and programming all the equipment to deliver a turnkey guest experience.

DJW can offer in-house multimedia design and development to create bespoke applications that have a heavy interaction between hardware, media and guest.

HISTORY

DJW, founded in 1986 by David & Lynn Willrich originally as a consultancy business, is now recognised as one of the UK’s leading forces in the audio-visual industry, using technology to tell our clients’ stories. The Company started as the AV Department of the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, which we then took-over in 1989, and are today still based in premises on the Estate and assisting them with their storytelling.

With 5 large galleries and a 120-seat Planetarium, the Space Museum was part of the biggest museum projects in the world – a project we are very proud to have worked on.

DAVID WILLRICH IS THE NEW INTERNATIONAL BOARD PRESIDENT OF THE TEA

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) announced David Willrich, Managing Director of DJW, as their new President, unanimously chosen by the TEA International Board to lead the Association for 2 years.

KING ABDUL-AZIZ CENTRE FOR WORLD CULTURE/ITHRA – GALLERY 4 – DAMMAM, SAUDI ARABIA

Gallery 4/Rehlaat Gallery explores the Natural History of the Arabian Peninsula from its formation to what it may become in the future. This was our most technologically challenging project, with 5 areas of 270’ floor to ceiling projection and with a self-diagnosing and fixing control programme.

TITANIC BELFAST

This inspiring visitor attraction is home to some of the most beautiful immersive experiences DJW has created. Commemorating the centenary of Titanic’s catastrophic demise, the world’s largest Titanic exhibition opened to the public at the end of March 2012.

AV Awards Systems Company of the Year
AV AWARDS SYSTEMS COMPANY OF THE YEAR

DJW were crowned Systems Company of the Year at the AV Awards As well as winning the Education Project of the Year – for Centre of the Cell and scooping the overall Grand Prix.

2009
Nürburgring
NÜRBURGRING

DJW was contracted to complete the detailed design of the Audio Visual systems and the complete Show Control at ring°werk, an indoor attraction built for the Nürburgring race track in Germany.

2000
Millennium Dome
MILLENNIUM DOME – LIVING ISLAND, WORK/LEARN AND SHARED GROUND

In 2000, the Millennium Dome was home to a 1 year exhibition for Britain to celebrate the new millennium, which was one of the most ambitious exhibitions in Britain since the Festival of Britain in 1951. We were honoured to be contracted as the audio visual systems integrator for 4 of the 14 zones.

House of Manannan, Isle of Mann
HOUSE OF MANANNAN, ISLE OF MANN

Manx National Heritage was responsible for heritage museums and sites across the Isle of Man. DJW installed and continued for quite some years to maintain a range of audio-visual equipment in a number of the sites, including the House of Manannan and Old House of Keys.

Natural History Museum, Sharjah, UAE
NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM, SHARJAH, UAE

This project came as a direct result of the Evolution of Wales! The whole team designers, setworks, AV integrators, shopfitters etc.; were asked to recreate something similar in Sharjah. This project then lead us onto winning and installing an Archaeology Museum, a Children’s Discovery Centre, an Islamic Museum, a Botanic Museum, a Maritime Museum, and an Aquarium.

Legoland Windsor, Parkwide AV Consultant
LEGOLAND WINDSOR, PARKWIDE AV CONSULTANT

After a chance meeting with the procurement Manager for this project at IAAPA and then being introduced to another member of the team, David Willrich was very proud to be asked to be the Parkwide AV Consultant for this project. The Company also went on to supply and install AV equipment for the Pirate Log Flume and several other areas. David made many strong acquaintances from this project, several of whom we have worked with during later years.

This was the Museum’s innovative Geological Gallery, that moved on from just “pieces of rock in glass cabinets” to explaining the story with technology!

1989
DJW took over AV Department at the National Motor Museum
DJW TOOK OVER AV DEPARTMENT AT THE NATIONAL MOTOR MUSEUM

Not having enough time to run DJW and Beaulieu’s AV department separately, it seemed the most sensible thing to do was to combine the two and takeover the AV department. Since then, we have worked on many exciting projects, including being an integral part of the Top Gear Exhibition, as well as Tuckers Garage, the Bond In Motion Exhibition to celebrate 50 years of the films and Land Speed Record sets.

David and Lynn met whilst both working at Beaulieu, and set the Company up alongside Beaulieu’s AV department, which David ran.
